My Friend’s Band
Last night I went to a show, my friend got me to go
To see his band I had never heard before
Every song had a catchy hook, every song was by the book
A killer beat, vocal duos, and screaming lead guitar solos
And after the show, a record company man
Said he wanted to talk to them
The next day they were on the road; they were booked playin’ shows
From New York to LA
He said… they were the next big thing!
My friend’s band is really freakin’ cool
They sell out all their shows, get played on the radio
My friend’s band rocks really freakin’ hard
They jump around on stage, they get paid and they get laid!
I asked my friend what is it like
To be a big rock star
He said that it was great, you get to play music all day
Everyone watches everything you do, and all the girls like you too!
My friend’s band is really freakin’ cool
They sell out all their shows, get played on the radio
My friend’s band rocks really freakin’ hard
They jump around on stage, they get paid and they get laid!
And maybe someday we’ll
Get to open up for them in some big stadium
But for now we’ll have to
Bum off people we know, hope kids come to our shows
Man I really envy my friend’s band

I have found the girl for me
